Let Go Let God…
We all believe in a cause. Some more strongly than others.
It may be that conscious parenting is your thing, or advocating for your environment or animals is your thing. Maybe its about eating organic foods.
Over time, we build strong ideas about how it needs to be, or how it should look like. Sometimes, these ideas get staunchly held in our grip. Our grip on them so firm that all other perspectives don’t stack up.
For example, I am a firm believer in organic gardening – I have no space or time or room for any poison to be used at any time. I have zero-tolerance for poison – even ones masquerading as organic herbicides.
But people in my community still rely on poison as an option. Their fears are substantiated – we have weeds out of control overgrowing our forests. They want what is best for regenerating our forests with natives – and a little bit of poison may be needed to help with this.
But I am a firm No to poison ever being an option.
My alternatives to poison are labour and time consuming. The alternative resources that I propose, such as Epsom salt and vinegar, also add up financially. Hard truth to sell. Furthermore, hard truth to guarantee results.
So, do I compromise my Truth and submit to the majority? Or do I fight my community all guns blazing? Do I move to live elsewhere with another aligned community (if one exists) or do it alone?
If my grip on my Truth was so firm, with my zero-tolerance for poison – I would seriously need to consider moving, right?
Well, here’s the thing about letting go of our grip on our Truth. We don’t need to let go of our Truth; the invitation is to let go of our iron grip of it, which is to say, loosen up your defenses.
We attach too much to our defenses like our sense of identity. We fear that if we loosen up our defenses, we would be losing our sense of identity.
We attach our sense of belonging to these truths. These truths offer us a sense of belonging and if we let go, we risk being outcast.
Think about what you may be attaching your truth to – is it your security blanket?
When our Truth is challenged or when we need to compromise, it literally feels like that very foundation is shaken - we will be losing our identity, we risk losing our sense of belonging. There’s a lot at stake. Hence why our grip is so tight to protect our Truth.
So, what does loosening our grip look like?
For me, I blessed the ‘poison’ that we used with a high vibrational Resonance Alchemy sacred phrase that protected all sentient beings from the toxic affect of the poison. I blessed the maker of the poison, the distributor and the ground that would eventually receive it. I blessed each member of our community with a high vibrational sacred phrase to detox our bodies from its affects.
And after we used the poison in a small and select area of our land, I shared with my community that I would no longer participate in using poison again.
About 3 months later, the community once again rallied for the use of poison on our driveway to kill the weeds that were damaging our road. This time, I remained clear that my position was to not use poison and that any use of poison must not and cannot enter the waterways on my section of the land we live on.
I did not prescribe to my community’s approach, but I did not judge them nor stop them from being who they are – which included using poison when they felt necessary. And I certainly did not compromise on my Truth.
The great thing about loosening our grip on our truth is that it frees up energy. Where once, so much energy is expended on our grip, the release of that grip also releases the energy for new ideas to be received. As the saying goes, let go and let god…
